While watching the news of millions of refugees leaving Ukraine, trying to get to safety, while their loved ones go to the front lines, Walt Stewart found that the phrase “We are watching you” came to him.
He says that, “many of us have those words inside us that need to be spoken, and that the human collective is asking…”What can I do?” So he decided to do something…
…and today, Walt Stewart is launching a new humanitarian relief campaign called “#StayStrongUkraine” on the GoFundMe platform.
His initial goal is to raise $5M to benefit RazomForUkraine.ORG, which has been actively supporting humanitarian efforts in Ukraine since the annexation of Crimea in 2014.
To kick off the event, Stewart is releasing a song called “We Are Watching You (Stay Strong)” on all major music services, as well as on YouTube and WaltStewart.com.
The goals of the campaign are:
- To keep the Ukrainian relief effort top of mind.
- To let the Ukrainian people know that they are not alone—that we see what’s going on.
- To provide an inspiring song to rally the relief effort and create the intention of peace.
